Q. What account do I use to login to Moodle?

A. Use your UCID, it is the same username and password that you use to login to Highlander Pipeline.

Q. When should I contact my instructor?

A. Contact the instructor when the problem you are having relates to the content of the course.  You should not contact your instructor for problems related to logging into Moodle or any system errors you may experience.  These issues are better addressed by the helpdesk.

Q. When should I contact the help desk?

A. Contact the help desk when the problem you are experiencing relates to logging into Moodle, or if you see a system error.  You should not contact the help desk for assistance with the content of your course in Moodle.

Q.  Where can I get training on Moodle??

A. A number of training videos and handouts have been created to assist you with using Moodle. You can access the tutorials here: http://moodle.njit.edu/tutorials/students/index.php

Q. What is Moodle and what can I do with it?

A. Moodle is a learning content management system (LCMS) that is used by many instructors at NJIT to communicate with students.

Q. How do I control the frequency of emails from Moodle?

A. In your profile you can set the option for E-mail Digest Type to send you a daily summary of subjects or entire posts.

Q. How do I set Moodle to notify me of unread forum posts?

A. You can turn the option for Forum Tracking on in your user profile.  This will display the number of unread posts in each forum thread.

Q. I see my course in Moodle, but I don’t see any content, what is wrong?

A. As of fall 2010 all course sections at NJIT will get a Moodle section.  Although, many instructors use Moodle, there are some that do not.  You should contact your instructor to find out if they are using Moodle this semester.

Q. Where can I view my grades in Moodle?

A. Some instructors do not use the Moodle grade book; however, many do.  This is a tutorial on how you can access your grades in Moodle, if your instructor is using the grade book feature. http://podcast.njit.edu/moodle/students/grades.html
